HAPPY EARTH DAY

Lyrics:

We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

We should recycle now - all that we can
Reduce, reuse, recycle now - all that we can
We should reduce, recycle - all that we can
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

Be kind to the plants and animals - in our land
Be kind to the plants and animals - in our land
Be kind to the plants and animals - in our land
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

Shake hands with sisters and brothers - throughout the land
Join hands with sisters and brothers - throughout the land
Join hands with sisters and brothers - throughout the land
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

Dream your bright dream - then do all that you can
Dream your bright dream - then do all that you can
Dream a bright dream - then do all that you can
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole world in our hands

Alice the Camel

Alice the camel.jpg

Try the song and actions with your child

Alice the Camel- Continued activities

Activity #1

Sing the song with your child without the words, using "la," "ba" or animal sounds. By leaving out the words, this helps your child focus on pitch & rhythm. You can also try having your child echo each line as a call & response. This makes singing easier for children.

Activity #3

Alice the Camel- Coloring sheet. Download printable version here:

Activity #2

Ask your child to choose a new name for Alice. Ask your child to choose another animal (besides camel). Ask your child what the animal has to sing about (besides humps). Then, make up a new song using your child’s answers. Example: “Joey the Dog has four tails...” This activity is perfect for children developing their abstract reasoning, creative imagination and verbal skills.

DANCE BREAK!

Gummy Bear Dance

Review the song, "There was a Little Turtle"

Listen to the poem, "There was a Little Turtle"

Listen to it again and say some of the words.

Listen again and say the words quietly.

Listen again and say the words LOUDLY.

There was a little turtle He lived in a box He swam in a puddle He climbed on the rocks.

He snapped at a mosquito He snapped at a flea He snapped at a minnow And he snapped at me. He caught the mosquito He caught the flea

He caught the minnow But he didn't catch me! There was a little turtle He lived in a box

He swam in a puddle He climbed on the rocks. He snapped at a mosquito He snapped at a flea He snapped at a minnow And he snapped at me. He caught the mosquito He caught the flea

He caught the minnow But he didn't catch me

Turtle Smooth vs Separated:

Take a listen to the turtle movement song. It is depicting two things when the turtle is swimming through the water and then when the turtle is climbing on the rocks

1. Listen to the recording stand up when you think the turtle is swimming, sit down when you think the turtle is on the rocks

2.Listen again and move through the space- When you think the turtle is swimming, swim through your room. When you think the turtle is climbing on the rocks crawl on the ground through you room

(Parents / Guardians - It is smooth when the turtle is swimming and it is separated and detached when he is climbing the rocks)

Today’s assignment is to learn and teach the song If all the Raindrops to your child. See the song and lyrics below if you do not already know it:

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
So what a rain that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be

I can get working
Oh, look at that
He, hope he gets everybody
Oh, come on

If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be

Yum, this is more milky
Yeah

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be
Everybody

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be

I'd be outside all day, me too
